Speaking and Listening: Intergenerational Dialogue

When was the last time you had a meaningful conversation with someone much older or much younger than yourself? Society at large is rapidly moving in the direction of separate communities based on age. In the process, younger men are robbed of the experience and support of the generations that went before them. Likewise, older men are robbed of contact with the creative zeitgeist of a newer generation. This generational apartheid leaves our community increasingly spiritually impoverished.

The Lodge of the Golden Fleece is a safe environment where younger and older men speak to and listen to each other. Conversation about where we have come from, where we are now and where we are going both as individuals and as a community, how we use our personal experience, self-knowledge, balanced judgment, and ripening wisdom for the welfare of the community.

What is Freemasonry?

Freemasonry is the world's oldest and largest Fraternity. Its allegories from the King James Bible date back to antiquity. Its singular purpose is the cultivation of every moral and social virtue. Its bonds of friendship, compassion and brotherly love have survived even the most divisive political, military and religious conflicts through the centuries.

Freemasons believe in one God and in respect for each other. Freemasons are respectable citizens who are taught to conform to the moral laws of society and to abide by the laws of the government under which they live. They are men of charity and good works.
