In 1858 the first residents were admitted to small cottages built on crown land granted to freemasons of the day in Prahran.
Today the Homes is one of the largest providers of a range of specialised aged care services throughout Victoria. At seventeen locations; there are nursing homes, independent units, a hostel, day therapy centre and "dementia specific" care facilities.
